Jury Duty?!

Why does jury duty call when the wedding season starts?! I will shoot 7 weddings in June, in three states--couldn't the judicial system have called in January or February when I was twiddling my thumbs ; ) Such is life.

Boys and Girls Club

I received a call from the Boys and Girls Club in Appleton asking me to work with them on their annual report, showcasing a few of their many success stories with the children they have worked with this past year. I am so excited for my photo shoots next week with the children who are making it, despite life's challenges. I even get to go into some schools and photograph them with teachers who have helped make the difference--go teachers! What a great opportunity to provide a service for an organization that makes a difference for children.

The Windy City...

...was hot and sunny this weekend, but we were able to get some beautiful shots at Milennium Park in Chicago. Andrea and Eric aren't getting married until September, but they are so photo-ready and so cute together! Eric loves architecture and that explains all of the architecture that crept into these photos. I had a hard time narrowing the photos down to my quota!

Rhianon and Adam

Wow! What a beautiful spot for a wedding. Though we started out with a downpour, the sun pulled through for the perfect outdoor wedding on the river. It was a great way to kick off our wedding season!

Potential Newspaper Article!

Let me stress "potential" at this point, because it hasn't happened yet, but...Today the hometown paper, The Post Crescent, called to potentially do an article on me to highlight someone who had made a major career change. The column is called "Shifting Gears" and runs every Thursday. I interview Tuesday afternoon, and if the article pans out, it will run next Thursday! It will be a question/answer format with a photo of me "on the job." For those of you who don't know, I used to be a fifth grade science teacher in Chilton for three years and actually started my official photography career during that time. My brother Ben advised me to explain to the Post Crescent that I made the career change because the 3 months off during teaching was not enough, and that I preferred the 9 months off during the non-wedding season of being a photographer ; ) That's Ben for you, always the joker of the group! So for those of you living in the right area, I will keep you updated if you have to go out and buy the Post Crescent next Thursday-stay tuned!
