10 Things

you didn't know about me. So, this might be boring, but it's passing time before I post my next wedding, Amber and Ben.

1. Dolly Parton, Oprah, Cate Blanchette--these are some of my current favorite famous people. The cell phone I have is a prize from the Oprah show taping I went to with my brother.
2. My favorite color is pink--I don't wear a lot of it, but however I can work it into my life, I do. Pink photography lights, pink coats for my dogs, pink Sharpies to write with...etc.
3. I was a high school valedictorian. None of those As were in photography.
4. By August, I will have been a bridesmaid 6 times--I took the photos at 3 of these weddings.
5. I do not watch scary movies.
6. I really really like fondue, but not as much as my mother likes wedding cake (she is usually my second photographer, so look out).
7. I ran a half marathon. And I do yoga to work on my bad posture.
8. My two drinks at Starbucks--Caramel Apple Spice or Nonfat Peppermint Mocha.
9. Run ins with the law: a)I got caught toilet papering the high school my senior year, I have been pulled over for speeding approximately 4 times, I was a passenger in a hit and run when we were young dumb kids (yes, we did the running--we hit a fence), I reported a man for threatening to poison my dogs, and I testified in a stalking case.
10. I sleep in, pathetically late, except on wedding days.

CFCU Santa Party!

Each year, we have the fun task of photographing the Children's Christmas Party for CFCU. This time, Sherry got to fly solo and did a great job--here are just a few fun shots. It's so cute when we get criers : )

Cameron and Riley

I get to photograph these cute little peanuts about every 6 months. Despite Cameron being a little guy who is always on the go (we tried to bribe him with fruit snacks), I think we managed to capture a few keepers. Riley is at the perfect age where we could just plunk him down in a spot and he can't move ; )

Valentine's Day Promo--Kids!

Lindsey and I are rocking the specials in January so don't miss out on these! One for the ladies and one for the kiddos!

Valentine's Day Promo--Ladies!

Valentines Day?!?! Yes, you read this correctly. Even though CHRISTMAS is just around the corner and most of us are up to our ears in shopping, wrapping, mailing, and cookies, Lindsey and I are already planning two special Valentine's Day photo events. You might consider this as a Valentine's gift for a special someone else; but better yet, consider doing this for yourself. Speaking from experience (dare I mention I had Lindsey do this for me!), you will not be disappointed. Our beautiful white bedroom set produces the most beautiful skin tones, and we as women shoot to create images that are chic, elegant and classy. We then take the 20 best images from your shoot and create a beautiful 5X7 album with metallic prints that you will absolutely love. Bring a friend, make a date of it--this shoot is not nearly as scary as it may sound!

Erin and Ryan

Winter has officially stormed in to good old Wisconsin, but we were still able to get a few outdoor photos with this engagement shoot. Erin and Ryan were tough, because it was FREEZING outside! These two were great together, and they made it easy for me to capture some great moments. Yay for Erin--a preschool teacher. If you read this blog enough, you know I love those teachers!

Linsey and Braydn

These two will be married next June. If these engagement photos are any indication of how beautiful the wedding photos are going to be, we are in great shape!

Katy and Matt

Wow, talk about a beautiful Fall wedding! Look at the leaves and the lighting in these photographs-it truly could not have been better. These two spent a lot of time on the details, from the homemade jam favors to the speech that Matt gave at dinner about why he loved Katy-it was so very sweet. Katy and Matt met and got married in less than a year, and it is easy to see they are great together.

Don't Forget About Christmas Cards!

We can take any image, or a collection of images, and make them into a personalized photo card for you. Here are one family's options.

The Bumble Bee and The Green Dragon

With only one wedding to go until December, I thought I would post some random happenings in my life outside wedding photography. Enjoy, and Jordan, don't email me and tell me this is boring ; )

So that is what someone does to their dogs for Halloween when they don't have any kids.

This is just another cute shot of Tubbins taken with the Canon Elph.

My puppies with their best friends Izzie and Milo.

My trip to Oprah with friends Melissa and Amy!

Angie and Chad

Angie and Chad had their reception at my favorite reception hall, The Golden Mast. I love it there because it is on the water, has beautiful outdoor photo spots, and the inside is filled with these beautiful lantern lights and a marble floor that give a great romantic feel to the photography. It was easy to see that Angie and Chad had such an honest love for one another, and the line between their family and their friends didn't exist. Best to both of you as you grow in love over the years to come.

Not Sequestered and The World's Best Pizza

Due to my lack of recent blogs, I have had several people ask me if I got sequestered (isn't that a great word?) when I was on jury duty. Well, the truth of the matter is, I never got to do any jury duty. There were no new trials my whole week, which was somewhat disappointing--I had my books, my travel was all figured out, and frankly, I was excited to get a first hand look at the justice system. But I did read my book anyways, "Eat, Pray, Love". And I give it a cautious "yes" recommendation. The author is someone who doesn't hold all the same beliefs that I do, but it was fun and inspiring. And the most memorable part of the book for me was a description of the world's best pizza--apparently somewhere in Naples--it sounded delicious anyways!

Alison and Patrick

When I did their engagement shoot, it was freezing cold outside. Patrick let me wear his hat the whole time outside, and then they bought me lunch. For me, it is the little things like this that can show what kind of person someone is. So I had been really excited to be able to shoot Alison and Patrick's wedding, not only because they look great together ;), but because of the type of people they are. We had a beautiful outdoor shoot in Green Bay and I am super excited about our variety of photographs. The weather, her bouquet, his cuff links, a relaxed wedding party, and even the salmon dinner (I love salmon--it is a 'superfood'!) were all spectacular.

Melissa and Mike

With Halloween just around the corner, we had to share our park with a little fall festival--pumpkins, corn stalks, hay, kids and all. We were able to keep the scarecrows out of the photos and get some beautiful shots of these two little love birds who will be married next August ; ) The sun is a little deceiving, as it was about a 40 degree drop from last weekend. Melissa did a great job hiding the cold, and Mike kept her laughing and warm!
